U10 - Beaumaris Kings

The last game; and there's one thing we know.... Most of our kids just don't run. Saying that they played well and were up against a VERY improved and changed side. I want to thank everyone for volunteering their time and money to make this a very enjoyable season.

Congratulations to Orlando for receiving the outstanding achievement award for his overall performance this year

Coaches' Corner :
The first half we were still asleep the second half we started jogging and things were a bit better but overall not our best game of the season. Hopefully everybody will want come back next year and do it all again. Thanks to Jason and Karl and all the parents for helping. One thing we did improve on was the half time fruit which was of a high standard every week, some weeks had 3 or 4 selections.

We need to get all the stingray playing tops back so they can be recycled for next season.

U10 - Sandringham (Hurricanes)

The best we've played all year and we lost. We were ahead then some poor defense let in 3 easy goals. We came back but the clock, and Harry's hat trick, was denied. It's been a tough year but the boys have improved 10 fold. Looking forward to the last game and perhaps we can go out with a win.

****THE BETTER TEAM LOST****

Congratulations to Jackson Curtis for receiving the outstanding achievement award for his previous game.

Coaches' Corner :
Another tough game where we played well but in the end lost the game. We have one last game to get our defense working and that's it for the year.
Also training on Wed night for last time - we will do some stuff and then get the parents into a game.

U10 East Bentleigh (Stingers)

Another game the boys should have won. This was however the game where they all ran like the wind and gave it their all....... If only they could clear the damn ball. POWER boys POWER. As can be seen in the pictures they did have a 25 year old playing for them (refer to photo) and a few boys with mustaches but the game was played in good spirits and they all had fun. Jackson's goal was a cracker and we need more POWER behind each shot.

Congratulations to James Loffel for receiving the outstanding achievement award for his previous game.

Coaches' Corner :
It was a good effort with 2 players away. We need to work on clearing from defense which cost us in the end. We managed a record with 4 keepers today which seemed to work ok. We will train on Wednesday night as usual with no games next weekend.

U10 - Glen Eira (Taipans)

They did it again; no, I'm not talking about the game but about the Bloxhams who did the 5-fruit combo that I doubt will be topped in the last few games. The boys played well and as usual our goal keeping was 1st class. We deserved a goal or two but it never came. There are three more games and lets hope we can crank out a win before the end of the season.

Congratulations to Arun Bloxham for receiving the outstanding achievement award for his previous game.

Coaches' Corner : It was a tough gig with no interchange and  having to listen to that guy(Bruce) commentate the whole match very loudly, anyway the boys did well with everybody trying hard. We had some chances but luck was not with us and they had No12 who was very good (we knew because Bruce let us know) - well done to Arun who was given the job of marking him and special mention to James and Harry for fantastic keeping, We did run out of legs a bit towards the end but next week we should be back to normal looking for  a few goals and a win.

At one point the game changed from soccer to international rules which was a bit strange and 2 of their goals came from refereeing decisions that Bruce the commentator must have called "SPECIAL:"

Bayside Argonauts FC

This time we came out fighting and scored first. It was one of two goals from Arun who has the never give up attitude that really inspires. At the end we lost but played well.... Both goal-keepers were once again fantastic but where it all goes wrong is in defense. I'm sure the coaches will work on this for our last four games.

Congratulations to Thomas and Kyle (last week) on their "Most Valuable Player" awards for massive improvement and solidifying the midfield.

Coaches' Corner : Alright stuff today, for a long time we had them on the ropes so the boys really can do it and we did give it a go- yep we lost 4-2 but they knew they had played. We still have to get the defense sorted when under pressure and we will have another look at this at training this week. With 4 games to go if we keep going like this we will get some good results.

The score ended up 2-2

U10 Sandringham (Wolves)

It was a good game today and we came back against a very good team.... Yes we lost but we still scored and the boys played as a team. The one thing we lack is some commitment and giving it 100%...... Please encourage your boys to run till they drop as they will see the results. Lets hope for another sunny day next week. PS Start thinking about what we are going to do at the end of the season.

Congratulations to ................... Wait for next week peeps

Coaches' Corner :
We did really well to contain the attack of Sandy with some great keeping from James and Harry limiting the Sandy goals but we also had our chances and scored 2 goals from Charlie and Karl and with some accuracy we could have scored more.We need to work again on our defending and also getting some power into our long kicks. In the second half we started on fire and kept it up for most of the half-we need to do this in the first half of games as well as we seem to be like that most weeks. Everybody is still having fun and continuing to improve as the weeks go by and we ask no more than that.
