U10 Glen Eira - Rhino's

It was a game we should have won. We played well and James's goal-keeping in the first half was exceptional. What was it that let us down today? It was an co-ordinated defense and kicking invisible balls. Charlie was fiesty scoring two great goals but sadly it was not enough. Looking forward to our home game in two weeks time.

Congratulations to Harry on his "Most Valuable Player" award for great striking.

Coaches' Corner :
We had some good passages of play through midfield to the attackers which resulted in 3 good goals - we had the game in the bag but we let ourselves down with our defending and keeping in position, the other thing we did a lot was the air kick where the ball is missed and rolls under the players foot, so if we can get these things right we should be ok .Also the guys we have used in goals this season so far have been really good and no keeper would have stopped some of the goals.

There is no game next week but we should do some training instead - we will let you know the time later on in the week.

The score ended up 3-4

U10 - Hampton Junior Soccer Club

It was another fantastic morning, the sun peaking its head through the clouds with the boys up for a fight. The shouts of a fanatical Irish coach on the adjacent pitch rang clear as our boys took to the pitch. Going a goal down we equalised with a goal of their own...... and after that we had chance after chance but their goalie was good, real good. The second half showed our disorganisation and we let in a couple of easy goals and one one cracker from their No.8. I hope the boys learn that training is vital to success, not matter what the game.

Congratulations to Jackson on his "Most Valuable Player" award for two fantastic goals last week

Coaches' Corner :
It was a tough game where we had plenty of goal chances but could not put them all away - we need to hold our positions and be aware of where the opposition is, we will practice all this at training this week. But we did have a few good passing sequences which nearly resulted in  goals.

The score ended up 1-4

U10 - Stingray's Blue

The first game of the year; and what a way to start. Five new player and were they were up for it. It was goals galore after James opened the scoring after a minute on the pitch. It's was great to see the comradery on and off the field with our fantastic coaches rallied the boys with frequent changes keeping things fresh. I'm looking forward to the next game and hopefully another win against the Rhino's

Gold Star Award coming next week
