U11 - Baxter SC

Spring is here but for us spring hasn't sprung. The boys played well but it was not to be. Some sloppy play meant we let in 5 goals. Jackson continued his run of goals and everyone shon at some point of the game, sadly however it just wasn't consistent. There is one more game. Let's go out with a win.

Reminder of the get-together on the 9th.

The outstanding achievement award went to Mitchell for all round performance and playing all positions.

Coaches' Corner :
We played defensive and we kept them at bay and even managed a goal. Everybody tried hard but they came over the top in the end. Last training this week then the last name.

Scores ended up 1-5

U11 - Chelsea Braves FC

Sadly your manager was crook with a fever but heard some great reports on how well the boys played albeit with a little navel-gazing. With only two games left let's see if we can have another win. With a weeks gap we need to practise twice as hard to ensure that.

Reminder of the get-together on the 9th. It's good for most as it's hard to please all :-) - I will confirm later.

The outstanding achievement award went to Martin for last weeks contribution being a rock in defence

Coaches' Corner :
We tried hard but could not goal today , in defence we need to clear the ball and communicate who is going to clear the ball, we need to go to the ball a bit more and try to anticipate where the ball will be going.

Scores ended up 0-3

U11 - Mount Eliza Blue

This was a much better performance by our boys than the last encounter where we were unable to score. The passing was good and the boys shared the ball. The highlight of the day however was the 7 fruit sensation delivered fresh by our own, William Wallace.

The outstanding achievement award went to Thomas L for last weeks contribution always feeding the ball.

Coaches' Corner :
We scored 2 but should have had at least 4 , we put them under pressure up front but they held out. When we get passing and talking to each other we go well when we don't we lose easy goals, we will keep training on these things this week and look for improvement next week.

Scores ended up 2-7

U11 - Peninsula Strikers

It was an early and a slow start but when our opponents found their own net our boys turned on the heat. While the opposition were not the best they put in the effort but were unable to stop the barrage of goals that followed. A special mention to Mitchell and Martin who scored their first goals for the club. Well Done. With four games to go, lets see if we can keep the momentum. See you all at training on Thursday.

The outstanding achievement award went to Arun for last weeks contribution giving it 100% all the time.

Coaches' Corner : Today's game was a good chance for the boys to play out of their comfort zones in different positions which they all managed, with some boys getting their first goals. The strikers never really showed any signs of striking and we kept a clean sheet. I am sure next week will be a bit tougher for us but it was good to get the win today but the 8 aside was hard work with a bench of 4. Lets focus at the training this week and keep improving week by week, it's all about passing the ball -> let the ball do the work.

Scores ended up 8-0

U11 - Chelsea FC

Windy...... or what? We played well but Chelsea played better and ran. For some reason we just don't have the compunction to run and give it 100%. We have the skill and the talent, we just need the drive. Jackson once again gave it his all against very big opposition.

PS The fruit is top-notch peeps. ;-)

The outstanding achievement award went to Jackson and Orlando for outstanding performances.

Coaches' Corner :
Tough game with the wind today but not many players were running to the ball as there was a lot of ball watching instead of challenging for the ball, Chelsea's willingness to run to the ball was the main difference today, they scored 5 goals yet did not have much if any more skill than us. Hopefully next week we can improve.

U11 - Mount Martha SC

While Bernard Montgomery nursed a cold our own William Wallace marshaled the troops with military precision. Our opponents while monstrous in size were definitely not the most co-ordinated and thankfully we took advantage of that. Jackson in true Trump style picked them off one at a time and scored a fantastic hat trick. The boys definitely gave it more effort today and next week I'd like to see that upped a notch or two. Thanks again to all parents for your continued support in making our team games a fun place to be on a cold Saturday morning. PS Some good pictures to download.

The outstanding achievement award went to Kyle for our great win against the Wolves.

Coaches' Corner : Good fruit, good play, good win, good hat trick Jackson , good training and back to normal this week

Scores ended up 3-1

U11 - Sandringham Wolves

It was close...........And somehow we held on. Jackson's goal at the 11th hour sealed a good win for the team. The boys tried hard today and the result showed that effort. Midfield was still a kit of pigeons looking for that last seed which we must work on as the ball does not feed through... Unlike those pigeons at half time.

Enjoy the break all and see you for training on the 13th. (Parkers and Neubauer's will be on leave).

The outstanding achievement award went to Jackson for last weeks contribution for his goal and giving 100%.

Coaches' Corner : I
t was a pleasing game with pleasant opposition and goals and a win, it is all coming together. We had some good passages of attacking play leading to the goals so well done to all the boys and I am hoping our downhill run to the end of the season will result in more games like this one. If we keep passing the ball around we will go ok.

Scores ended up 2-1

U11 - Peninsula Strikers JFC

It was good to see some goals this week and it would have been great to have seen some more. We could have won it easily but we lack fire-power in front. The defence was good and our goal keepers did a great job under heavy pressure.

Yoda - Do it or do not there is no try? (and if you do put in 100% peeps)

Many thanks to the Hansen Family who pitched in to help in the canteen - Thank you.

The outstanding achievement award went to Luiz for last weeks contribution both on the field and in Goal.

Coaches' Corner :
Good passing as we practiced in training, we were unlucky not to score more goals. If we can get going in the first half we will go ok in our remaining games for the season.Good effort all round today.
