U11 - Peninsula Strikers

Today we came out the blocks firing. We were energised and passed to each other. It was a friendly game played in good spirits but for the first time this year we dominated and the boys knew it. I hope they remember what they did to make it happen...... They played as a team, shared the ball and enjoyed the morning.

PS The fruit was well..... Holly COW, out it came like, BOOOM - Five, yes five delectable choice for the Rovers.

The outstanding achievement award went to Orlando for continuing to improve game after game. Well done!

Coaches' Corner : It was a pleasant game with everybody having a go at playing different positions which was good to see. We scored a few goals and I can see the shots are getting more power. We now need to work on our corners .

The score ended up 7-3

U11 - Chelsea Eagles

Today we played a very tough team and in some ways the result was fair. The opposing team were tough and we were just outmanned but when we played well we were outstanding and should have netted a few more but the in the end they had the edge.

Looking forward to the next game.

PS The fruit was TIP TOP today ;-) (No pressure hehehe)

The outstanding achievement award went to Harry for his golden boot.

Coaches' Corner : I was a physical game and that's what you expect from a team that's just won the EPL- we need to toughen up and give as good as we get in the physical department. We were actually well in the game but in the blink of an eye we lost our defensive mojo in the second half and it was all over. We need to keep practicing our defensive stuff and think what we doing with the ball rather than just booting it. The second part of the first half was our best in the second half John Terry got his troops fired up and that was it. We had a couple of good goals by Harry Parker after a some good passages of play from defense to midfield through to attack. Our attacks are good but lets get the defense sorted.

The score ended up 2-4

U11 - Mt Martha Green

The weather held for a great game against some rather large opponents. Some I believe just finished the night shift, had a quick shower and shave before coming down to the game. The boys started straight out the block....... and what a difference. Halftime came and we were 0-0. Our illustrious, and handsome I might add, coaches (as can be seen in the video below) gave it their all and made sure the boys knew what was required...... Along came the HAZman with one of the most powerful strikes this season to open our account..... followed shortly by a clever goal from Thomas Lang..... Both goalies today had a clean sheet and the game was played in good spirits.

Apologies for the quality of the pictures as I was just not on song.

The outstanding achievement award went to Charlie for his tireless and skilled performance at last weeks game.

Coaches' Corner :
We learned from last week and came out strong from the start and kept it going, we had a lot of long through balls which opened up the Mt Martha defense and this eventually led us to getting goals.. Everybody is starting to get more power in there shots and following through on the ball to keep the pressure up. No goals were concede which shows the defense and goalkeepers are working better, although we still need to get our goal kicks under control. We also need to be more aware of the opposition players and marking  them up at corners , throw ins, goal kicks.  As long as we keep working as a team we will go well.

The score ended up 2-0

U11 - Mount Eliza Red

A game we could have won:

While the boys were still thinking about their breakfast and reminiscing about that first spin of their new fidget devices Mount Eliza were rolling in like the 51st airborne and quickly knocked up 3 goals. More were to come....  Halftime came, with Braveheart and Montgomery marshalling the troops no more goals were conceded. A great goal from Jackson rounded off a pleasant morning. Charlie and Jackson could have scored again but luck was not on our side today. Roll on next week.

Outstanding achievement award went to Martin for his outstanding defence in last weeks game.

Coaches' Corner :
A game of 2 halves, we played well and stood up and won the second half but in the first half we were still sleeping and could not cope with the pressure and lost a few goals. So next game we need to be alert from the start. Good attacking play in the second half got us the goal.

The score ended up 1-6
